PVC flooring is a modern floor covering material made primarily from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, produced through calendering, extrusion or pressing processes with plasticizers, stabilizers and fillers. It is eco-friendly, wear-resistant, slip-resistant, fire-retardant and sound-absorbing, widely used in commercial, medical, educational and office spaces.
Compared with traditional flooring, PVC flooring offers: 1) Eco-friendly and formaldehyde-free, made from renewable materials; 2) Excellent wear resistance, with wear layers up to 0.1-0.7mm; 3) Slip-resistant and safe, becoming grippier when wet; 4) Fire-retardant, meeting Class B1 fire standards; 5) Sound-absorbing, reducing noise by 10-20 dB; 6) Quick installation, directly laid on level substrates; 7) Rich designs simulating wood, stone and carpet.
PVC flooring suits a wide range of commercial and public spaces, including offices, shopping malls, supermarkets, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, nursing homes, gyms, stadiums, libraries, museums, hotels, restaurants, factory workshops, metro stations and airports. Choose the thickness and wear rating according to the traffic level of each space.
The service life depends on the wear layer thickness and the traffic level of the space: 10-15 years for residential use, 8-12 years for light commercial use, 5-10 years for medium commercial use, and 3-8 years for heavy commercial use. Selecting the right wear rating helps extend the lifespan.
Daily maintenance is very simple: 1) Vacuum or wipe with a slightly damp mop; 2) Use neutral cleaners and avoid strong acids and alkalis; 3) Avoid sharp objects scratching the floor and add pads under furniture legs; 4) Avoid prolonged direct sunlight; 5) For commercial spaces, professional deep cleaning is recommended every 3-6 months.
